Foster and Willis Review Heritage Farmstead Museum
You'll easily visualize how the Farrell's and Wilson's lived a self sustained life on this once 360 acre farm. You'll experience the Parlor Garden, the Farrell-Wilson Farmhouse Potting Shed/Root Cellar, Curing Shed, Blacksmith Shop, Livestock area, Orchard/Sorghum Mill, Wikiup/Native American Garden, Corn Crib, Cemetery, Field Crops, Tractors Pole Barn, Hen Houses, the Young House, and the One-Room Schoolhouse. The Farmstead is only about two miles from the heart of downtown Plano, TX. Families would take their horses and buggies east into town over a black clay trail on what is now 15th Street. There is so much to see and do here. It's truly a living museum complete with friendly farm animals. Be sure and visit their web site for much more information as well as year round events: www.HeritageFarmstead.org. For a small free each year the Farmstead folks offer an entertaining and educational hands-on Summer Camp in the mornings for children of all age groups. 'Ol Foster and Willis love this place just as you will too.
